Writing DNA
Your private, non-judgmental creative fingerprint — the genres, themes, and tendencies that recur across your writing.
Writing DNA is a portrait of the writer you are becoming, drawn from patterns across your work over time: the genres you gravitate toward, the themes you return to, and the stylistic tendencies that recur. It is a fingerprint, not a report card — there is no grade, no ranking, and it never rewrites or generates prose. It builds on your Skill Tree and writing history, and it is private to you.
What it reads
Only content-free signals — your craft levels, story metrics, content-type mix, and completion counts. Never your story text, and never a score of good-or-bad. Like Writing activity and the Skill Tree, it is private to you.
What it costs
Each recompute spends a small, fixed number of credits, shown on the button before you run it. It only ever runs when you ask it to.
How to use it
- Turn on Writing activity under Settings → Writing activity — Writing DNA is part of it and stays off until you do.
- Write and finish a few stories, and assess some in the Skill Tree, so there is enough history to draw from.
- Open Writing DNA in the sidebar and choose Build my DNA. The button shows the credit cost first.
- Read your genres, themes, and tendencies, plus a few neutral observations — then refresh it now and then to watch your fingerprint evolve.
