Skill Tree

Track your storytelling craft over time — level up by improving, not by writing more.

The Skill Tree models your craft as about fifteen storytelling disciplines — structure, pacing, character, dialogue, voice, and more. When you assess a story, Oghmere scores that story on each discipline and records a few coaching observations and questions. Your level in each discipline is a longitudinal read of those scores across your stories, so it rises as your craft improves — not because you wrote more.

What it records

Only the numeric scores and structured coaching notes — never your story text, and never a rewrite. Like Writing activity, it is private to you.

What it costs

Each assessment spends a small, fixed number of credits, shown on the button before you run it. It only ever runs when you ask it to.

How to use it

  • Turn on Writing activity under Settings → Writing activity — the Skill Tree is part of it and stays off until you do.
  • Open Skill Tree in the sidebar, pick a story, and choose Assess this story. The button shows the credit cost first.
  • Read your per-discipline levels and growth, plus the coaching questions each assessment surfaces.
  • Assess again as you revise or finish new stories to watch your craft develop over time.
