Version history

Oghmere keeps a history of your writing so you can look back — or step back — at any time. Every checkpoint is a saved snapshot of a document that you can view, compare, and restore.

Where to find it

Each document has a History tab showing its own checkpoints. A project also has a Version History page that rolls up the recent checkpoints across all of its documents in one place.

What gets saved

Checkpoints are created automatically as you write — a snapshot once a document has enough content, and again whenever a large change would otherwise overwrite a lot of text, so earlier work is never lost. Automatic checkpoints are labelled “Auto-save”; a checkpoint you name carries that label instead. Each row shows its label, when it was saved, and the word count at that point.

Comparing and restoring

Open a checkpoint to see what changed — added lines in green, removed lines in red. Restore rolls the document back to that snapshot. Restoring is safe: it saves your current text as a new checkpoint first, so you can always undo it.
