Account & security

Profile, password, two-factor, sessions, and notification preferences.

Your account settings live under Settings, reached from the account menu. Each area is its own page.

Profile

Settings → Profile is where you update your display name and profile details.

Appearance

Settings → Profile → Accessibility is where you change how the app looks. Light and dark follow your system by default, and you can pick a colour palette on top of either: Monochrome turns the warm accent off entirely, and there are palettes tuned for red-green, red-blind, and blue-yellow colour vision. A separate toggle switches the whole app to a dyslexia-friendly typeface with looser spacing. Under "For fun" there is also Party Like 1998, which restyles the app in the Windows 98 look. Your choice is saved to your account, so it follows you to every device.

Security

Settings → Security is where you change your password and set up two-factor authentication (2FA). When you enable 2FA you are shown one-time recovery codes — save them somewhere safe, as they are the way back in if you lose your authenticator. You can also review and revoke trusted devices from here.

Confirming your identity for sensitive actions

Some actions — changing your password, managing two-factor, deleting your account, billing and API-key changes, and team changes — ask you to confirm it is really you before they go through. If you use an authenticator app, enter a current code. If you do not, we email a short one-time code to your account address (with a resend option). Each confirmation covers only that kind of action for a short while: repeating the same action will not ask again, but a different sensitive action confirms separately — so confirming a billing change never authorises deleting your account.

Under Security preferences you can turn these confirmations on or off for the actions your administrator leaves up to you — handy if a prompt gets in your way. Some are always required (and some may be turned off entirely) by your administrator; those do not appear in the list.

Passkeys & keeping a way back in

A passkey lets you sign in with your device (Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello, or a security key) instead of a password. To make sure a lost or replaced device can never lock you out, always keep at least one other way in: a password set, a verified Google or GitHub account linked, or unused recovery codes. If a passkey is your only sign-in method, we block removing it until you add one of those fallbacks. Lost your device? Sign in with any of those fallbacks, then remove the old passkey and register a new one.

Going passwordless

Once you have another way to sign in — a passkey or a linked Google or GitHub account — you can remove your password from Settings → Security to go passwordless. We block removing your password if it is your only sign-in method, and confirming the removal needs a fresh second-factor check. You can add a password back at any time.

Notifications & more

Settings → Notifications controls which emails and in-app notices you receive. Other settings pages cover connected accounts, your projects, and closing your account.

Closing your account — and changing your mind

Deleting your account takes effect right away: you are signed out and can no longer sign in. For 30 days it is still recoverable, after which it becomes permanent.

To come back within those 30 days, go to the sign-in page and choose Restore your account, or visit /restore-account directly. Enter your email and we send you a link to confirm the address is yours. Opening that link reopens the account — it does not sign you in, so you still sign in as usual afterwards.

Credits you purchased come back with your account. Free credits and subscription credits do not: a subscription ends when the account closes, and free credits are not restored. If you are past the 30 days, contact support.

If you let an account go permanently and later sign up again with the same email, you can still create the new account — but the one-time free starting credits are only granted once every 12 months. When they are held back, we tell you at sign-up and show the date they become available again; in the meantime the account is ready to use and you can buy credits.
