Project workflow & board

A project moves through a loose workflow, and the sidebar gives you a surface for each stage. You do not have to follow it in order — jump to whichever part of the work you need.

The stages

• Brief — gather the shared context — topic, audience, purpose — that the rest of the work reads from.
• Ideation — develop a document’s thesis in a coached conversation.
• Research — find the gaps worth filling and keep your sources in one place.
• Outline — give a document its structure, section by section.
• Drafting — write in the editor, with coaching a click away.
• Final edit — run an editorial pass and work through the suggestions.

The board

The Board is a card view of your project’s structure. Each Part is a column, Chapters group the cards inside it, and every scene or document is a card showing its title, word count, and status. Open a card to jump straight into that document. Documents you have not filed into the structure yet appear in an “Unfiled” column, so nothing is hidden.

For multi-book works, the Books panel above the board lets you create a Book and nest existing Parts under it (Book → Part → Chapter → Scene). Once a Part sits under a Book, the board groups those columns under the book’s name. You can rename or delete a Book at any time — deleting one only moves its Parts back to the top level; no documents are lost. Book-less projects can ignore the panel entirely.

The board is a read-only overview for now: you organize documents into Parts and Chapters from the project’s structure and the board reflects it. Rearranging cards on the board itself is coming later.
