Billing & keys
Top up credits, set an auto-refresh plan, or bring your own AI key.
Billing lives in Settings → Billing. It shows your current credit balance and plan, lets you add credits, and lets you connect your own AI provider key. See the Credits page for what actually spends credits.
Adding credits
Buy a one-time top-up pack for a fixed number of credits, or choose an auto-refresh plan that tops your balance back up on a schedule so you do not run out mid-session. You can change or cancel an auto-refresh plan at any time.
Bring your own key (BYOK)
Instead of spending managed credits, you can add your own API key for a supported AI provider. When a key is set, eligible work runs on your key and does not draw down your credit balance. You give the key a label; only a short hint of the key is ever shown back to you, and the full value is never displayed or logged after you save it. Remove a key at any time to switch back to managed credits.
For an Anthropic key, a Prompt caching switch sits next to the key. Left on (the default), we reuse the stable, unchanging part of each prompt so Anthropic bills you less for repeated input — a saving that lands on your own Anthropic bill. Turn it off if you would rather not use caching.
Your usage, split out
Billing shows how much work ran on managed credits versus your own key, so you can see the effect of BYOK at a glance.
A quick identity check
Sensitive billing actions — starting a checkout, opening the payment portal, or adding, testing, or removing a provider key — may first ask you to confirm your identity. If you use an authenticator app, enter a current code; otherwise we email you a short one-time code. This keeps someone who steps up to a signed-in screen from changing how you pay or spend.
